Veeam Backup & Replication 10

Jun 23, 2020

This is now out in the wild and we at vBridge recently upgraded our IaaS and Cloud Connect backup infrastructure to it.  There is something like 150 new features, enhancements in Veeam 10, which is quite significant, however, upgrading was really easy and drama-free.  New features include; NAS file backup, ransomware protection features, Linux proxies and enhancements to Instant VM Recovery.

Biggest wins for us are improved tape job performance, and the Instant Recovery features, such as being able to instantly restore individual disks from large virtual machines, without having to restore the entire VM, and then being able to mount these onto live VMs.  We may look at rolling out some Linux proxies in the not too distant future also.

Alongside Backup & Replication, Veeam also released the following:

VeeamOne v10

Veeam Agent for Windows 4.0

Veeam Agent for Windows 4.0

Veeam Availability for Nutanix AHV V2

Plus, a bunch of plugins for SAP, Oracle, Solaris and Linux
