Security of supply when you need it the most
Mention information security to most people and you’ll conjure images of hackers, cyber threats, and passwords. Sure, these are important aspects in protecting confidentiality, but just as important is security of supply.
What is security of supply? Well, it’s ensuring your systems and data are there for you when you need them. An information system can only serve its purpose if it is working.
Ensuring security of supply means attending to every component that makes up the entire system. These include the parts that store and process information, maintaining backup systems that step in when failures occur, implementing resilient connectivity, and having the right people on hand. High availability systems always aim to remain available, preventing service disruptions due to power outages, hardware failures, and system upgrades.
At vBridge we invest heavily in high availability systems, and our customers rely on these. We are humbled by the trust they place in us, and we take our responsibility seriously. Our ISO 27001 certified information security management system helps ensure the processes and procedures we need to maintain our systems and deliver on our promise are complete.
We daily report on storage capacity, system utilisation, backups, and attend to warnings and alerts from our monitoring systems. Other routines monitor items like certificate expiry and the health of both internal and external services. And our senior leadership team regularly reviews this information.
Information security is more than maintaining confidentiality – it's about ensuring you can rely on your systems when you need them the most.
